As you may have noticed from the Bellowhead site's News page, our new play "Hearts & Minds" opens in just over three week's time on July 10th and features music from 'Burlesque'. We were granted the kind permission of the band a couple of months ago and rehearsals are proving that their music is working amazingly well. Not only does it fit the tone of the piece perfectly, but it is also helping us have a lot of fun. Hopefully the audience will enjoy it too. As an example of what we're doing, the show starts off with a scene which re-enacts an entire wedding ceremony. And whilst the actors are all silent, the scene is accompanied by "Hopkinson Favourite" in its entirity. Majoring on the instrumental pieces, other tracks which will be featured include "Sloe Gin", "The Outlandish Knight" and "Death & The Lady". The show's big finale features "Frog's Legs and Dragon's Teeth" and I defy anyone to resist dancing along! Bellowhead's music is adding a wonderful dimension to a show that is going to be special in lots of ways - not least because every audience member will receive free chocolate(!) So, if you're near to Birmingham and like the sound of all that - it'd be great to see you. You can find out more onthe H&M blog. Thanks a lot, Matthew Banwell
