Merely last night I noticed a slight resembelance that Jon had (whilst singing the sinister bits) to Basil Faulty. Anyone care to comment?Vikki xx

I was watching them on Friday at Loughborough and while Jon was telling one of his stories I just kept thinking - Jon Cleese. Similar tallness and voice..

Gosh haven't been on here in a while - Is Mrs Knitter, Sideburn Bob etc.. still around?

Can't say I've noticed Jon behaving like John Cleese. Do you mean he hits his car with a branch when it breaks down? That I'd like to see. However, an awful lot of people seem to think it's him moonlighting as Robin Hood in the new TV series.

Definitely Robin Hood.  Not sure about John Cleese - I'd have to ask him to do a silly walk to see!

(yes, I'm still here Miss A - how's motherhood going?)

I thought there was a resemblance, too. (To Robin Hood, I mean, not  John Cleese.) But has anyone noticed that he doesn't blink when he's singing?

A coincidence has just occured to me. Jon composed the score for a play of Robin Hood, which was performed in a park in Oxford.

Is it just me? ..........  or is anyone else having problems viewing the last few entries ie January.  Whenever I click on the name of the person in the appropriate section for the last message it just acts as a refresh and stays on the main page!!

Cheers

Ah, I've had the same problem as well. I think it has something to do with an anonymous person posting meassages that have been removed because of there content. I guess the link to the message no longer exists so that is why its sending you back to the main page.... possibly ......however I might be completely wrong!

Happy New Year Everyone

You're spot on Trunkles.

It seems that, like other boards at the moment, this board is being targetted with Spam. The Aimoo software is smart enough to allow bad posts to be removed by the Admin. Unfortunately it's not quite clever enough to update the main page if the removed message was one of the latest posts. We have similar spam problems over on Talkawhile but the Yabb software we use seems to be better at housekeeping and keeping the main page up to date.

It's sad to say though that it's probably time this board stopped allowing posts from Anonymous people. It should only allow registered members to post. That would cut down 9/10ths of the spam. Unfortunately I fear it might also cut down 9/10ths of the posts from Jon Boden who never seems to remember his password

Cheers

Nick

Wow - thank you, you teccies!  I would never have thought of that.  It makes perfect sense.

I like Nick's idea - most of us sign in anyway (usually the only reason we don't is if we've forgotten!).

I think your right - it's a shame that it needs to come to that but if it is going to be a problem then it may be the only way.

Hi there,

I don't think it will have to come to that, most of these spammers tend to work from one computer.  Aimoo (for all it's faults) lets me ban specific ip addresses which spam.  I haven't had any problems since I did that to the last lot a couple of days ago, so I think it's working.  It's nice to get some posts from guests from time to time.

Cheers

Squeezy
