Does anyone know if there are plans for any new recordings? I know it's not been a year yet and they're touring like bonkers but have I've missed something or has there been nothing since Burlesque at the tail end of last year? I only ask as there's usually at least one related CD a year, more if we're lucky. In the meantime I've got the Shepherds Bush Empire gig to look forward too!

There haven't been that many new songs in Bellowhead's live set lately. They may have been busy building up a stock of new material in private but from past experience I don't think they're the sort of band to do that. In the past they have let their material evolve by playing it live before committing it to disc. So unless they're changing their approach I would have thought that they'd need to have more new songs/tunes in their live set before they're ready for an album.

The September tour and Shepherd's Bush gig is the point of focus for the band at the moment. So if there is new material, that is the most likely time for us to see/hear it. I'd guess that if there is no new material premiered on the tour then its unlikely that we'll see a new album within the next year.

However, the Shepherd's Bush gig will "almost certainly be recorded for a live DVD" So that's well worth looking forward to .

Cheers

Nick

There been a number of new songs/tunes creeping in to both the J's and Ratcatchers sets recently (including one where squeezy plays a kitchen spoon) so it may be thay they are focusing on developing those rather than Bellowhead stuff.

However it would be nice to have a new Bellowhead album .......

This is what happens when each person in the band is actually in about three bands each as well as Bellowhead I suppose. Since i listen to the lot, I don't mind

At the Nettlebed gig last night, Jon said they were "looking at" doing another album. Woo-hoo!

Ah yes - I heard him say that, but obviously didn't quite take it in - too much excitement again I suppose! We had such a great time that we're heading to Oxford on Sunday as well (and trying to drag along a few non-folky friends this time!) - hoping the crowd there will be a little more pre-disposed to dancing (I had a few glares from the lady next to me - hope she wasn't you!).

Nettlebed is infamous for its strict schoolroom seating policy. We've pretty much given up going there nowadays.

The Bullingdon on the other hand is better known as an indie rock venue  so Sunday's gig will be very interesting. It's a shame it clashes with 3 Daft Monkeys who're on next door at the Zodiac, sorry,  "Academy" as we'd like to see both concerts. We'll see you in the Bully though Firebird.

Cheers

No, she wasn't me! I don't know how people can sit so still! Sadly I can't go to the Bullingdon, but I hope all who go have a great time. (I'm sure you will!)

I'm gutted, I now have tickets for both!

I couldn't make up my mind but I think the J's are going to win given the set they did on Monday. Jon did say afterwards that it would be different set for the Bully but I don't think I would mind hearing Mondays set again!

Trunkles.

P.S. Jon or John any chance of playing trunkles on Sunday please?
