How annoying it was having the board down...
I'm off work this week, so thought I'd get to catch up with people.
Well at least it is back on now, hey!
Anyone around for a chat later tonight? 8pm-ish?

I shall be escaping London to Oxford for a Halloween Party on Sunday.  Where and when Morris?  Might take along newish bloke and indoctrinate him regarding all things folk.

Hello Everyone

Been a very long time... far too long, far too long.

How are you all?

Sadly Mrs K I was unable to go to London on Sunday however I was amply represented. Did you go in the end? If so did it go well? Sounded a little shambolic at our practice the week before!! But then perhaps that was just my side!

Keep well y'all

Do you know, I'm sure I remember the days when you could log on to this message board and bump into other people - when I do get the chance to log on these days there is never anyone about.
Is it a game of hide and seek? oh excellent....

Oh  I will always remember those heady days of chats about bottoms and tank tops........(stares wistfully into the distance..................)

Well, the computer thought you were there, or else it wouldn't have allowed us to invite you to chat.  We're frustrated too!!

Oh well, we'll all make it in together one day.

Not doing Bedworth I'm afraid.  Anyone else a bit nearer?!

Indeedy, I attempted to talk to Mrs K yesterday in chat room, but fear that my avatar may have scared her off...

On advice have changed it to something less stern looking (and a bit more attractive to outlandish knights)

Well, it was either that or my total inability to pick a font colour that wasn't black  (doh!)

Why thank you v. much Mrs K, I'm sure I shall...

At any rate I'm going to make a big effort and post lots of things to stop my current avatar being a "beardy geezer".

Although liking beards (and indeed wonderful facial hair of the impressive variety displayed by Sidburn Bob) a lot I feel that Ladies such as myself should wait to be complemented upon them, rather than drawing attention...

Hope to chat y'all soonish

When do our statuses change?  I'm still beardy geezer after 15 posts!  That said, it's highly appropriate as several of my shift (myself included) have just started a 6- week sponsored beard grow for Children in Need.  I shaved my beard off this time last year, but I'm obviously destined to look a true folky at Bedworth.  Thinking of shaving all bar the 'tash off for Cheltenham folk fest and scaring the children...

All the best

Dear Duffbasher

Glad you are coming along to Cheltenham... It looks a cracking line up and they also invest heavily in a lovely selection of real ales. Fancy a Pint?

Think it changes after 20 posts.  Faaaar to long to wait, IMHO.

Anyone going along to TwickFolk Sunday week?  Or is it just self and a beardy-folky-geezer?

Have new new bloke now (never managed to indoctrinate the other one to anything.  Including the concept of films and plays that aren't tragedies.  This one's much, much nicer )

Damn! I really want the Morris style sideez, guess its going to be a long time coming!

I remember trying to bring my last fella round to the concept and love of all things folk.

Took him to Towersey and he couldn't cope... Should have known then really.

Although to do him justice he did develop a small thing about Magpie Lane.

Sadly no TwickFolk for me at the mo'

I must admit, I quite like my goatee - makes me kind of 'distinguished'!!

Not sure about Eliza hair, though.

Not going to TwickFolk either, I'm afraid.  I've planned my lay-in for Sunday morning!!

Ah, but it does change colour and glow in the dark! Therefore has clear advantage over other such facial adornments and the like...

You are clearly an example in how to combine both refinement and funkiness!

Whoopeee!  Played 'Through and Through' to him (or 'Through and Trough', as it called itself when I put it onto my hard drive at work) and he stated that he could happily start Morris Dancing to it.

Marvellous.

Perhaps at some point there'll be a repetition of what the man from the BBC called a 'morris conga' at Towersey? I'll have to learn some moves from my seriously morris friend before next time, that's for sure.

Does anyone know if there's enough space for polkas, Cornish six-hand reels and other madness at the Twickenham Folk Club? Not to mention bourees, which is what I was trying to do when a line of six-hand reelers led by John 'Smiley' Stewart practically knocked me off the front of the stage at that gig. Honestly, I don't feel I can sit down for a Spiers and Boden gig. The most I'll do is stand still and sing for 'Prickle-eye Bush'.

Well I would be interested to know is what a Squeezy Stylee Goatee Beard looks like... The only Squeezy I've seen has been shaved as smooth as a babies bottom. But then the young men today do seem apt to change their hair (both head and facial) with alarming frequency.
