This board has been moved to http://forums.spiersandboden.com which works much better

The posts here will remain until the subscription runs out (albeit in a completely random order!).  After that the forum will be allowed to die peacefully.  You will not be allowed to post anything here.

This board has been moved to http://forums.spiersandboden.com

This Aimoo site will be viewable until the subscription runs out.  After that it will be left to expire and unless I can do something magic - all the posts will be lost.

Re :   What's Happened Here? (take 2)

Well, it's starting to sort itself out now by the look of things...

The main page appears reasonably quickly and the most recent threads are appearing at the top of the list instead of the bottom. Although the old threads (pre-update) now seem to have a random order and don't seem to be sorted by date.

The Reply page still takes a while to appear. Probably due to all the buttons it has (I shall have to find an excuse to play with the Table button!)

Anyway, I hope this is all alive again?

Cheers

Nick

I see things haven't improved much today either.

Does anyone else find being repeatly taken back to the homepage/site advert quite annoying?

Yeah, this really isn't working very well at the moment. Half the time it takes forever to load in the rest of the time it just times out and comes up with an error... mmmm technology, some times I'm just not sure.

It's all very strange. It's hard to find one's way around. And it takes an age to log in, if one's lucky enough to manage to do so. Hopefully it will settle down eventually.

Re :   Bellowhedonism (currently suffering from)

Apart from the obvious, my other musical favourites are Antony and the Johnsons and Marc Almond.    I didn't get to see Marc live though until this year when I was lucky to see him in his first full concert since his motorbike accident, at Wiltons music hall.    After this he did a few more shows including Bristol [where I live] and Glasgow, which was at the ABC.      It was an excellent venue much better than any converted Academys.    It would be a good venue for Bellowhead.       It is on one of the main shopping streets, not far from the Scottish Assemby.    Not sure that i will be going as we are planning a little trip around Wales instead.     Although could change minds depending on when hte Peatbog Faeries are playing at Celtic Connections

Re :   Whats happened here then?

Ok, I've found my way back to this topic. It is at the very bottom of the list, apparently pre-dating posts made in 2003!

Anyway, let's see if it knows who I am this time...

Cheers

Re :   What's Happened Here? (take 2)

I've just found both topics at the bottom of Page 6 of the Questions forum! It looks like the date stamp has gone wrong - these posts are being filed at the wrong end of the list, after posts from 2003.CheersNick

Topic :   What's Happened Here? (take 2)

This new forum layout is very shiny ... but! It's behaving very strangely indeed!

Trunkles made a post called "What's happened here then?" in this Questions part of the board. Fi responded. Then I responded.

First thing I noticed amiss was that I was listed as a Guest in spite of the board saying I was logged on.

Then, when I tried to go up to the top of the forum, I was told I wasn't authorised. Eventually I ended up in a general "Aimoo" area and it took a few leaps into the dark to find my way back here again.

Then, from the new Top Page I can see all the usual boards, and can (currently) see Trunkles' post listed as the "Last Post" in the Questions forum. If I click on the Last Post it takes me to Trunkles' post. If I click on the forum itself, the post is not there!!

So, I'm trying to add a new post to see what happens. I shall report any further strangeness (if indeed I can!)

Cheers

Nick

Re :   Whats happened here then?

Having looked around a bit, I think that this topic has ended up in the middle of someone else's Aimoo place!I found a way through to the Main Page which is at:http://forum1.aimoo.com/spiersandbodenand, under the Questions page, this topic is currently listed as the Last Post. If you select the last post you end up here which it seems is a general Community/Questions area. However, if you select John's Questions page itself, this topic doesn't exist!HmmmNick

Re :   Whats happened here then?

This new board is behaving very strangely indeed!

I can only get to this topic - all other roads seem to lead to pages that say "Unexpected Error" or "You are not authorised". It then took about a minute to load up all the buttons and things to allow me to write this response.

I think it needs some tinkering with to set up properly

Still, it looks new and shiny. I must work out how to put a pic up rather than appear as a sunflower or whatever that thing is on the left.

Cheers

Nick

Re :   Whats happened here then?

There has been an 'upgrade' in the Aimoo software which runs the board. I am sure Squeezy knows about this but I think he's on his travels again...

At least it'll load today, yesterday it was dreadful!

What happened to the forum? It seems to have gone a strange grey colour...
